This 2017 Taiwanese film treats its heroes as human beings yet still captures the struggles of Asia’s lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender (LGBT) community with eloquence and poise.

The story centers on a twenty-something man who works at a salon in the city. He has a dream — to fully transition into a woman. However, as an only “son” he is under pressure to succeed his father as chief of the tribe.

Presented as part of the Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival, part of the nonprofit Silk Screen organization’s efforts to celebrate diversity and multicultural Asian and Asian-American experience through cultural events.
