Pittsburgh-based theater maker Adil Mansoor presents an in-process showing of his latest work, an adaptation of the Antigonie legend as related by Sophocles (496BCE – 405BCE).

In ancient Greek mythology, Antigone is one of the children born of the incestuous marriage between Oedipus and his mother Jocasta. She is determined to defy a decree and give her brother a proper burial.

Creator and director Adil Mansoor explore queerness, the afterlife and obligation using Sophocles’ canonical text, teachings from the Quran and audio conversations with his mother to create an original performance locating love across faith.
