An impressive cast delivers powerful performances in this 2021 British film.

The story centers on a young boy in 1969 Belfast at the start of “The Troubles” — the three decades of violent conflicts in Northern Ireland between those loyal to the United Kingdom and those committed to the Republic of Ireland. As the suffocating stranglehold of increasing turmoil tightens around his once-peaceful working-class neighborhood, the boy and his family must come face to face with a decision: stay or start packing?

“Belfast” was written and directed by Kenneth Branagh (pictured), who has described the work as his most personal film.

Admission is free. Times given are approximations; the film will begin at dusk. Presented by the City of Pittsburgh Department of Parks and Recreation (a.k.a. CitiParks) and sponsored by Dollar Bank.
