See the museum’s magnificent Hall of Architecture filled with towering evergreens, each adorned with handcrafted ornaments from organizations collaborating with members of the Women’s Committee.

Founded in 1957, the Women’s Committee, Carnegie Museum of Art is dedicated to furthering the interests of Carnegie Museum of Art and promoting its cultural and educational value in the community.

The trees flank the museum’s exquisite scene depicting the Biblical story of Christ’s (4BCE-30CE) birth set within a vibrant and detailed panorama of 18th-century Italian village life. Handcrafted between 1700 and 1830 by some of Naples’ finest artists, the presepio (Italian for “nativity”) is filled with lifelike figures and colorful details.
