Teams of local politicians, sports stars, media personalities and entertainers compete in boccee games.

Bocci is a ball sport that has its roots in the Roman Empire (29BC-395BCE). Play begins by tossing a small ball called a jack. Each player then tosses a larger ball with the goal of landing it closer to the jack than his competitor. It can be played on grass or an asphalt surface.

Admission is free. Presented as part of Little Italy Days, a celebration of the Pittsburgh neighborhood Bloomfield and its Italian immigrant legacy. The festival is produced for the community by Big Day Entertainment. For more information, call (412) 566-2900.
