The Baroque Era was a period in European history during the 17th & 18th centuries noted for highly ornate and often extravagant style. Baroque architecture used contrast, detail, grandeur and surprise to achieve a sense of awe. Music of the period was equally elaborate and typically involved much improvisation. The term baroque is a variation of the Portuguese word for an irregularly shaped pearl.

Come for a Baroque jam session on popular tunes, dances, and sonatas of the 17th, and 18th centuries.
