Nimble hands compete to see who is the most proficient at solving the three-dimensional puzzle commonly called the Rubik’s Cube (pictured).
The cube was invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor Erno Rubik. An internal pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the six colors. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be returned to have only one color.
Each year, the competition brings together hundreds of the top American speedcubers, as well as many international competitors, for a fun weekend of solving puzzles.
Presented by CubingUSA, whose goal is to support and grow the US speedcubing community.
