This one-of-a-kind evening celebrates the remarkable presentations of the Pittsburgh Dance Council.

Over the past 50 years, Dance Council has showcased preeminent dance companies and performances from across the globe, including the works of the Joffrey Ballet, Sankai Juku, Batsheva Dance Company and many more.

The evening begins with cocktails and dinner in the Renaissance Hotel (which, like the Byham Theater, is part of the historic Fulton Building). This follows by a performance by the artists of MOMIX and wraps up with a disco-theme dance party.

MOMIX is a dance company founded in 1981 and is led by choreographer Moses Pendleton. The company presents works that combine acrobatics, dance, gymnastics, mime, props and film in a theatrical setting. MOMIX is named after a solo, “Momix,” that Pendleton created for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Moscow, which derives its name from a milk supplement fed to veal calves.

Proceeds benefit the Pittsburgh Dance Council, a component of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
