Devotchka is an instrumental and vocal quartet that beautifully blends elements of Eastern European folk music with indie pop to create genuinely sweet music.
These four artists brilliantly utilize a unique variety of instruments — including the theremin — and find inspiration in everything from the cabaret world to second-rate western movies.
The band’s name is a variation of the Russian word “devochka” which translates to English as “girl.”
Admission is free. Presented as part of the WYEP Summer Music Festival staged by local non-profit radio station WYEP-FM.
