Discover some colorful trolls among the chrysanthemums!
Chrysanthemums are flowering plants that were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BCE. Phipps has been creating chrysanthemum-themed seasonal shows since 1894. This year’s show features whimsical figurines depicting trolls — strange-looking creatures first mentioned in Scandinavian folklore who dwell in isolated rocks, mountains or caves and are often dangerous to human beings.
Witness a trio of trick-or-trollers dressed up in their Halloween best duds; marvel at a 10-foot-tall gnarled tree with beautiful cascade mums; solve fall-themed riddles — and learn about how trolls have been depicted in vastly different ways in pop culture throughout modern history.
