Kick off the winter season by building a gingerbread house that will never crumble.
Gingerbread is a type of baked food flavored primarily by the spice ginger, nutmeg and honey that humans have been creating for centuries. By the 17th century professional baker guilds were making shapes such as stars and animals in gingerbread. Decorated gingerbread homes appeared in Germany during the 1800’s.
Learn to sculpt a gingerbread house out of toasty brown clay, and form colorful candy-themed decorations using various clay and surface design techniques. This activity is appropriate for people aged 9 and up without adult supervision.
