Local Muslim women are welcome to participate in this regular program of religious study.

Islam is, like Christianity, a religion rooted in Judaism. Adherents are known as Muslims and they believe that an Arabic man named Muhammad (570CE – 632CE) was a prophet to whom God made important revelations. These revelations were recorded in a book called the Quran. Today, Islam is the world’s second largest religion with roughly 1.8 billion followers.

In the Arabic language, the term “halaqa” is used to mean a religious gathering and the term “tajweed” refers to the rules governing pronunciation during recitation of the Quran. For more information, call (412) 682-5555.
