The theater honors the lasting legacies of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with its annual day of reflection, unity and creative expression.
Minister and activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) was a pioneering leader in the American Civil Rights Movement. He advocated using nonviolence and civil disobedience as tools for empowering African-Americans. Dr. King continues to be an inspiration for all minority groups seeking equality and respect.
Begin the day with activities in the KST lobby, then come into the theater for performances that not only celebrate Dr. King’s legacy but also explore how his activism resonates with today’s struggles for justice.
