Nigerian-born singer/songwriter Jemiriye Adeniji crafts beautiful, original jazzy pop songs rooted in the traditional sounds and rhythms of the Yoruba people.

Most of the estimated 44 million Yoruba are native to what is now Nigeria. Their rich history and culture can be traced to the 7th Century CE. Since the earliest times, the Yoruba excelled in sculpture, textile, cuisine and music. Their monarchies, language and international experiences have contributed significantly to modern Africa.

With a powerful sonorous voice, the charismatic and elegant Jemiriye also uses her music to promote the betterment of African women.
