This 2015 film in the fourth installment of the “Jurassic Park” series.
The film series began in 1993 with a hit adaptation of the novel written by American author Michael Crichton (1942-2008). The action takes place on a fictional island off the coast of Central America called Isla Nublar. A billionaire philanthropist and his team of genetic scientists have turned the island into a wildlife park populated with the clones of extinct dinosaurs.
“Jurassic World” is set 22 years after the events of the first movie with the island succeeding as a popular theme park — until a genetically-engineered dinosaur escapes from its enclosure and goes on a rampage.
