This program will focus on three African Americans who played a significant role in aviation and aerospace history.

These people are Bessie Coleman (1892-1926), who was the first Black woman to hold a pilot license; David E. Harris (1934-2024), the first Black pilot to be made captain at a major airline; and Guion Bluford (born 1942) who was the first Black astronaut in space.
