Join Point Park University for an insiders’ look at how the historic and the innovative coexist in dynamic fashion.

Point Park is a liberal arts university founded in 1960 serving nearly 4,000 students at their urban campus in downtown Pittsburgh. The university’s name is derived from The Point, the location in Pittsburgh where the Allegheny River and Monongahela River meet to form the Ohio River.

The tour begins at University Center, which was constructed in 1902 as the corporate headquarters of the Colonial Trust Company, a forerunner to today’s PNC Financial Services. It was designed by noted architect Frederick J. Osterling (1865-1934) in the classical style featuring Corinthian columns and rich ornamentation. Today it houses Point Park’s library.
