Participate in the first meeting of this group, which will be led by a librarian and a different community leader each month and focus on fiction and non-fiction of the Black experience.

The group’s name is a reference to The Great Migration. The phrase “Great Migration” refers to the period between 1916 and 1940 when an estimated six million African-Americans left the poverty and racial discrimination of the rural South hoping to have a better life in northern cities like Pittsburgh.

This month’s selection is Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison. For more information, call (412) 363-8232.
