Saxophonist, poet and composer Oliver Lake‘s artistic vision remains daring, unique and uncompromising. Whether performing solo or with a band, Oliver maintains his place as one of the preeminent saxophonists in the progressive jazz scene.
Oliver is best known for creating, in 1977, the World Saxophone Quartet . This remarkable ensemble beautifully incorporates elements of free jazz, rhythm & blues, funk and South African jazz into their music.
Tonight, his band OGJB Quartet shares the stage with a group of poets sharing their work, including award winner Alicia Ostriker.
