Experience a local production of this daring 1998 music, which won two prestigious Tony Awards for its powerful examination of a troubling moment in American history.

The musical dramatizes the 1913 trial of Jewish factory manager Leo Frank (1884-1915) who was convicted of raping and killing a 13-year-old girl he employed. The trial and is outcome enthralled the nation and stirred heated anti-antisemitism.

Acclaimed composer Jason Robert Brown’s remarkable score draws on a variety of influences, from pop-rock to folk to rhythm & blues and gospel. The result is a powerful, bold and moving theatrical experience that offers a moral lesson about the terrifying effects of prejudice that should not be forgotten.
