Celebrate this year’s Pride with a family-friendly festival on the city’s iconic Andy Warhol Bridge.

Pride is an annual celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. The word and concept of “pride” is in direct opposition to that of “shame” (or social stigma), which sexual minorities have had to endure for centuries. June is chosen as Pride Month in recognition of the Stonewall Riots, which happen in New York City on June 28, 1969. This event marked the start to what is now the LGBT Rights Movement.

Enjoy two days of fun with over 175 vendors, food booths, concerts, children’s activities and even dancing.

Pittsburgh Pride is organized and run by the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh. The mission of the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh is to be a vigilant catalyst for change that produces increased opportunities and a high quality of life for the LGBT community in Western Pennsylvania.

Admission is free. PrideFest hours are Saturday, from Noon to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. For more information, call (412) 322-2800.
