Violinist, composer and concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley (pictured) joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in performing the waltzes and polkas written by Austrian composer Johann Strauss (1804-1849) and his three equally talented sons.

Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).

The program also includes a performance of Noah Bendix-Balgley’s own concerto, “Fidl-Fantazye,” which is inspired by his Jewish roots.
