Noted for its elaborate set and smart pacing, “Rear Window” centers on photojournalist L. B. “Jeff” Jeffries (James Stewart) who is home bound while recovering from a broken leg. Jeff fills the long hours by observing his quirky neighbors — including one (Raymond Burr) who may have murdered his wife.
“Rear Window” is one of the signature works of influential British filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock (1899-1980), who is pictured above.
