Experience the breathtaking color and charm of the Shin Hanga  Movement in Japan with this exhibition.

Shin hanga was an early 20th century art movement in Japan that revived the woodblock prints artistry the first flourished in the 17th century (“shin hanga” translates into English as “new prints”).

Landscapes, beauty portraits and traditional kabuki actors are featured in these masterful prints, which represent both a revival of Japanese tradition and an incorporation of influences from Western art (particularly the light and mood of Impressionism). The seven masters included in the exhibition created captivating images, boldly exemplifying this new approach to woodblock print design.
