Founded in 1895 by British composer, conductor and organist Frederic Archer (1838-1901), the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is one of America’s oldest and most prestigious orchestras having performed around the world including a 2004 concert for Pope John Paul II (1920-2005).
“Star Wars” took science fiction into new realms and the world by storm. Set amid a galactic civil war, struggling young farmer Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) finds himself drawn into the struggle by an aging sage (Alec Guiness) and the mysterious power known simply as The Force. Luke soon partners with smuggler Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in an attempt to rescue the kidnapped Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher).
