This presentation at Woodville will explore how ancient societies viewed chocolate’s cultivation and importance as both an early form of currency and ceremonial drink. The historic overview will also discuss the exportation of chocolate to Europe and the role chocolate played during 18th century in the American colonies. Demonstrations on the processing of chocolate and the making of the colonial version of hot chocolate are also to be included.

Attendees will be able to sample a variety of chocolate treats made with American Heritage chocolate and copies of recipes for all the chocolate treats will be available. American Heritage chocolate also will be available for purchase in our gift shop.
