A holiday mash-up for the entire family, “The Hip Hop Nutcracker” is a contemporary re-imagination of a timeless classic.
“The Nutcracker” made its debut in 1892 featuring an eternal score written by noted Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). Set on Christmas Eve, its the tale of a little girl named Clara who receives a magical nutcracker that leads her into the radiant Land of Enchantment — a place brimming with virtuosic dances from faraway lands
This version moves the story to 1980’s Brooklyn and is performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, disc jockey and violinist.
