Celebrate being authentic at a ballroom-centered space created for the LGBTQIA+ fam to connect, create, and shine.

The term “kiki” originally referred to a lesbian who doesn’t easily fit into the common stereotypes of gay women. Venues such as lounges for kiki (among other groups) were featured in the 1990 documentary film “Paris is Burning.” By the end of the 20th century, the word had evolved into meaning people who are gathering for a good time.

Ballroom is an underground subculture that originated among African American gay men in the mid-19th century. They often men dressed as women (sometimes flamboyantly) and various kinds of performances. One of the earliest leaders was a former slave named William Swann (1860-1925), who produced ballroom events.

Expect guest commentators bringing the heat, snacks and drinks to keep you fueled, prizes you’ll want to win, and a vibe that’s all about celebrating you.
