This charming 1786 comic opera is one of the most popular creations of legendary composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791).

Adapted from a controversial 1784 play, the opera tells how the servants Figaro and Susanna succeed in getting married after foiling the efforts of their philandering employer Count Almaviva to seduce Susanna (and finally teaching him a lesson in fidelity).

Presented by the Pittsburgh Opera, the eighth oldest company in the United States.
