The Second City is an improvisational comedy performance and training enterprise founded in 1959 by professional comedians Bernie Sahlins (1922-2013), Paul Sills (1927-2008) and Howard Alk (1930-1982). It’s based in Chicago, which for decades was the nation’s second largest city. The Second City has consistently been a notable starting point for comedians, actors, directors and others in show business. These include many of the writers and performers of the award winning television series “Saturday Night Live.”
From sketch comedy to original songs to world-famous improv, The Second City will leave you rolling in the aisles.
