This 2019 Romanian film tells the story of Cristi, a bleary-eyed police investigator who’s more criminal than cop. His involvement in a crime syndicate takes him to La Gomera in the Canary Islands, where he attempts to learn the art of ‘silbo’ whistling — a secret language used by shepherds that’s perfect for keeping secrets from his nosy colleagues.
