Current and historic issues concerning women are explored by Tarana Burke.

Tarana Burke is a civil rights activist who was the original founder of the “Me Too” movement and is among the influential female activists were named “the silence breakers” by Time magazine.

Rising to prominence in October 2017, the #MeToo movement is against sexual harassment and sexual assault (the # refers to a character used in social media). As it has grown, several important men in entertainment, business, journalism and government have been identified as alleged or proven abusers.

Presented as part of the center’s Truth Sayer’s lecture program.
