For this exhibition, New Orleans-based photographer documents disappearing social halls and leisure clubs that were safe gathering spaces for African Americans for entertainment, benevolent causes and community activism.
L. Kasimu Harris’ artistic practice deposits a number of different strategic and conceptual devices in order to push narratives. His work strives to tell stories of underrepresented communities in New Orleans and beyond.
