Join certified Whisky Ambassador Lee Morrison at the distillery for an exclusive monthly exploration into all things whiskey.

Whiskey is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain (such as barley or wheat) that is distilled with other ingredients and aged in wooden casks. The origin of whiskey is a matter of dispute, but its history is strongly aligned with that of Scotland.

This month’s session introduces the impact that oak barrels have on the flavors of whiskey. Subjects such as whiskey label terminology, barrel sizes, seasonal effects of aging, duration of aging and barrel activity levels will be discussed along side a curated flight of Wigle Rye Whiskies each emphasizing different barrel characteristics.

The class includes a flight of Wigle’s finest spirits which reinforces the afternoon’s subject. For more information on this age 21+ program, call (412) 224-2827.
