Participate in a fascinating tour of the family-owned and operated Wigle Whiskey — which has the only whiskey distillery in the region. The company is named after a man who took part in the 1791 Whiskey Rebellion, a protest held in the Pittsburgh area in response to a tax on distilled spirits.

Whiskey is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain (such as barley or wheat) that is distilled with other ingredients and aged in wooden casks. The origin of whiskey is a matter of dispute, but its history is strongly aligned with that of Scotland.

Experienced pros will walk you through how Wigle starts with organic, local grain to produce a portfolio of award winning spirits. The tour includes a cocktail to start, a hands-on tour of the distillation process, a history of the Whiskey Rebellion and a seated tasting of straight spirits.

There are five one-hour tours to choose from; each is for participants age 21 and over.
