Come aboard a Gateway Clipper riverboat for an informative and fun evening for “oenophiles” of every level.

Wine is an alcoholic beverage made from fermented grapes. Different varieties of grapes and strains of yeasts produce different styles of wine, which are generally categorized as “reds” and “whites.” Archeological evidence suggests that wine was first produced around 6000 BCE in what is now the Eurasian nation of Georgia.

Oenophile is the term referring to a disciplined devotion to wine that often includes strict traditions of appreciation. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, a seated dinner and eight featured wines throughout the evening.

Established in 1958 by Pittsburgh entrepreneur John E. Connelly (1926-2009), the Gateway Clipper Fleet is a fleet of river boats that launch from Station Square to sail the city’s magnificent three rivers that feature thematic cruises including those featuring live performances.

The cruise includes an amazing buffet featuring seasoned strip steak sliders. Only guests ages 21 years and older may participate.
