Mark the holiday season with the artists from Candlelight performing works from the classic ballet “The Nutcracker.”
Candlelight is a project that uses talented local musicians to create an accessible and ambient space where audiences can enjoy works by the finest classical and contemporary composers. It is a project by the company Fever, which considers itself the leading global entertainment discovery platform.
“The Nutcracker” made its debut in 1892 featuring an eternal score written by noted Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893). Set on Christmas Eve, it’s the tale of a little girl named Clara who receives a magical nutcracker that leads her into the radiant Land of Enchantment — a place brimming with virtuosic dances from faraway lands.
Presented in conjunction with Trinity Cathedral, a historic house of worship and the center for the Episcopal Church in the Pittsburgh region.
