The award winning 2015 film “Inside Out” is the inspiration for this interactive exhibit.

“Inside Out” is a computer-generated animated film is set in the mind of a young girl named Riley, where five personified emotions —Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust — try to lead her through life as she and her parents adjust to their new surroundings after moving from Minnesota to San Francisco.

Developed by Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh in collaboration with Pixar Animation Studios, this exhibit focuses on the five core emotions featured in the film. Hands-on and digital experiences offer opportunities to explore some of the ways we express our emotions — and recognize emotions in others, too.
