Fort Necessity National Battlefield
Listen to a reenactor in historic dress tell of life on the 1750s frontier. See the tools and equipment they carried. The program ends with the firing of the historic black powder musket.
Introduced in the 16th century, the musket is a muzzle-loaded long gun that became a military staple until the invention of the modern rifle.
Three half-hour sessions occur each day. Musket firing is dependent on qualified safety personnel on duty. Firing may be cancelled on short notice if safety personnel are not on duty. For more information, call (724) 329-5811.
