This half-hour program (three sessions occur each day) provides an overview of the Fort Necessity campaign and battle.

The 1754 Battle Of Fort Necessity was part of the French & Indian War, which itself , was an extension of the bitter Seven Year’s War (1754-1763) between the Kingdom Of Great Britain and the Kingdom Of France to determine which would be the dominate power in the Western World.

This program begins at the Visitor Center.  Participant will walk approximately 300 yards along a paved trail to the battlefield in the Great Meadows.  Along the way, the Park Ranger or Volunteer-in-Park will provide information about the causes and consequences of the battle of Fort Necessity.
