The Frick Fine Arts Building — officially the Henry Clay Frick Fine Arts Building — is home to three creative departments of the University Of Pittsburgh.

Commonly known locally as Pitt, the University of Pittsburgh is a state-related research university that began in 1787. The university is comprised of 17 undergraduate and graduate schools located in various buildings in the city’s Oakland neighborhood — effectively making it Pitt’s campus.

The Frick was built in the 1960s to echo the elegant style of a classic Renaissance villa with interesting features such as an open cloister and a pyramidal roof. It was donated to the university by philanthropist Helen Clay Frick (1888–1984), daughter of industrialist and art patron Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919).

In addition to classrooms, the Frick contains art galleries, a library and a 200-seat auditorium.
