Immerse yourself in an art exhibit inspired by #BlackGirlMagic featuring local Black visual artists including Staycee Pearl, Bekezela Mguni, Kitoko Chargois and Sarah Huny Young.
#BlackGirlMagic is an online movement dating to at least 2013 to celebrate the power, beauty and resilience of African-American women. (The “#” symbol is used by some digital media to help users share content or a theme). The movement has inspired many real-world events and programs using the title.
Works are drawn from the artists’ shared explorations of Blackness and self-reclamation. Presented in conjunction with the Kelly-Strayhorn Theater. For more information, call (412) 363-3000.
