This 2022 Japanese film celebrates the joy of self-sacrificing teamwork in pursuit of a shared goal.
The term “anime” refers to hand-drawn and computer animation originating from or associated with Japan. The production of anime focuses less on the animation of movement and more on the realism of settings as well as the use of camera effects. Diverse art styles are used and character proportions and features can be quite varied, including large emotive or realistically sized eyes.
“Anime Supremacy” is the story of a soft-spoken but strong-willed animator who gets her big break but must compete with a legendary animator returning to the business for a Saturday primetime spot. When the young animator challenges her hero-turned-rival on stage at an anime convention, the two production teams each set out to outdo one another — because there can only be one number-one!
