Drag superstars Jerrick Hoffer (as the spicy Jinkx Monsoon) and Benjamin Putnam (as the sugary BenDeLaCreme) kick up their stilettos for a night of riotous holiday fun filled with whip-smart comedy, wonderful songs.
The slang word “drag” refers to a person (usually male) who assumes the exaggerated dress and mannerisms of the other gender for artistic or entertainment purposes. For centuries, men have dressed as women during traditional customs and rituals. In medieval England, when women were banned from appearing on stage, men in dresses was common in plays. The term “drag” first appeared in the 1870’s and may have derived from the sensation of long skirts trailing on the floor.
Jinkx and DeLa have created a live stage show that is lovingly reminiscent of the classic holiday specials so often seen on television during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Delight as DeLa tries her hardest to uphold the cheery Christmas traditions of her childhood while Jinkx can’t stop sharing her bawdy sense of humor.
