This 2025 documentary film uses striking visuals and storytelling celebrates community, resilience and the power of art to heal through visionary artist Rashaad Newsome (pictured).
Born in 1979, Rashaad Newsome works at the intersection of technology, visual arts and performance to celebrate Black and queer contributions to the art world. This film follows Newsome preparing for a show at New York’s Park Avenue Armory, where he reclaims the space from its white military past, transforming it into a Black queer utopia.
Presented as part of Reel Q, the local LGBTQ film festival which is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
