Participate in a thoughtful, weekly study of an important Biblical writing.

The central texts, scriptures and letters of Christianity are collected in a tome called The Holy Bible or simply The Bible. Christianity is a monotheistic a religion rooted in Judaism. It is centered on the teachings of Christ Jesus (4BCE-33CE), who is considered to be God incarnated as His son. There are multiple iterations of The Bible, although all share certain writings. Every version is divided into two sections: The Old Testament (which contains many Jewish scriptures) and The New Testament (the writings of Jesus’ contemporaries and early followers).

Among these is a communique written by one of Jesus’ closest followers, Paul (5CE-64CE) to the Christians residing in the ancient Greek city of Phillipi. In it, Paul shares his thoughts about death and faith as he waits in a Roman prison.
