Reuben’s Painted Mandolin is a musical tribute to Jerry Garcia’s catalogue featuring a rotating lineup of Pittsburgh’s finest artists.
Singer, songwriter and musician Jerry Garcia (1942-1995) is best known as a founding member of the pioneering folk-rock band Grateful Dead (1965-1995). Garcia, his band and his music have long been associated with the counterculture movement of the 1960’s.
The tribute band’s name was inspired by lines from the 1978 Jerry Garcia song “Reuben and Cherise.”
