Spencer Krause, CEO of SKA Robotics, addresses some of the concerns and the potential benefits of robots.
A robot is a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions, either automatically through pre-programming or remotely by human direction. The term “robot” was invented by Czech painter and poet Josef Capek (1887-1945) whose brother, writer Karel Capek (1890-1938), introduced it in his 1920 play “R.U.R.”
Spencer Krause is the founder, president, and CEO of SKA Robotics, a Pittsburgh-based product development firm specializing in robotics and the interdisciplinary field of mechatronics, which combines mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to develop advanced systems that involve sensing, actuation and control.
