This inventive play was inspired by Pittsburgh native Andy Warhol’s (1928-1987) body of work.

Born Andrew Warhola, he was a leading voice in pop art, a movement that found art in the world of popular culture.

“A/B Machines” imagines a competition for fame and status between three performers. As each attempts to become the dominant personality in the room, they swap personas (and wigs), identity is duplicated like a silkscreen print, and the distinction between self and other begins to blur.
