The challenging and colorful teen years of actor Calogero “Chazz” Palminteri (best known for the 1994 film “Bullets Over Broadway”) inspired this crowd-pleasing musical.
Set in a hard scrapple Bronx neighborhood of the 1960’s, the musical tells the story of a young boy who soon finds himself at a crosswords: should he embrace the values of his working class father — or the glamorous mafia boss who befriends him.
“A Bronx Tale” began as a one-man play in 1989 and became a feature film in 1993 (both with Palminteri). This musical version debuted on Broadway in 2016.
